This precision CNC turned 20CrMnTi transmission gear blank features carburizing heat treatment to HRC 58-62 for maximum gear tooth surface hardness. The 20CrMnTi alloy steel provides excellent core toughness and fatigue resistance, widely used in automotive transmissions. Each gear blank undergoes case depth verification (0.8-1.2mm effective case), hardness traverse testing, and ultrasonic inspection. A: Effective case depth is the depth at which hardness drops to HRC 50 (or 550 HV). Our standard effective case depth is 0.8-1.2mm for automotive gears, verified by microhardness traverse on every heat treatment batch.
Q: Do you also machine the gear teeth?
